Walkagotchi ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what data the Walkagotchi app collects, how it is used, and your rights.

Who We Are

Walkagotchi is developed by Thomas Schifferer, based in Germany. For privacy questions, contact: [email protected]

What Data We Collect

Walkagotchi is designed to keep your data on your device. We do not run servers and do not have access to your personal information.

The app accesses the following data locally on your device only:

• Step count data from Apple Health. Walkagotchi reads your daily step count from HealthKit to calculate your pet's health. We do not transmit, copy, or store your step data anywhere outside your device.
• Pet and app state. Your pet's name, gender, age, health score, daily step goal, and game progress are stored locally using iOS UserDefaults. This data never leaves your device.
• App settings. Sound preferences, notification settings, and similar preferences are stored locally.

What We Do NOT Collect

• No account or sign-up required
• No name, email, or contact info
• No location data
• No usage analytics or telemetry
• No crash reports
• No advertising IDs or tracking

Subscriptions and Payments

Walkagotchi offers an optional auto-renewable subscription. All payment processing is handled directly by Apple through the App Store. We do not see or receive your payment information, billing address, or any financial data. We only receive an anonymous subscription status (active / inactive) from Apple's StoreKit, which is used solely to unlock subscription features within the app.
